Ike Inkwan Hong

Ike Hong, President, joined Kokam in 2007, playing a key role in establishing the company as a system integrator and EPC contractor. In this role, Mr. Hong has led to the development of more than 246 MW of energy storage systems space needed (ESS) around the world.

He is responsible for the development of the company’s first battery manage systems (BMS), high-performance battery modules, which utilize Kokam’s advanced lithium-ion battery technology, system-level BMS, and integrated packages using customized containers for diverse and challenging ESS projects. During his time as a field and R&D engineer in ESS and battery industries, Mr. Hong successfully led more than 50 ESS projects and wrote 11 patents in the fields of ESS and BMS that enabled the business to expand into global energy markets.

Mr. Hong holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.
