Dr Victor Schäfer has been working as Vice President – Research & Development at the battery storage system manufacturer TESVOLT. He is responsible for the quality assurance processes and the development of new products. He is also in charge of TESVOLT’s innovative Active Battery Optimizer. This technology optimizes the SoC of each individual cell and guarantees TESVOLT’s lithium storage systems a service life of up to 30 years.
In his PhD, he devoted himself to the future energy management challenges for lithium-ion storage and 48-volt automotive integration. Before he joined TESVOLT in 2017, he spent five years in the automotive industry working for Porsche AG and Daimler AG. He is part of the Advisory Board for Competence Center for Energy Storage and Energy System Management of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) Potsdam and commits himself to association work in the German Energy Storage Association (BVES).
